Chess: New and Improved

"Using the chessboard and the types of pieces and moves available in chess, devise a cooperative game of some kind for two people, in which they must work together to achieve a victory condition (You do not need to use the starting conditions of chess, nor all the pieces). Document the rules and the victory condition."

Rules:

To start: Two rolls of ponds start at one end of the board with a row an empty roll between them, so the ponds start on rows one and three. Two queens start at the other end of the board at the corners.

Moves: The queens move like the typical queen while the ponds have an added special move which allows them to eat/kill backwards when possible.

Objective: Two available game scenarios are possible. Play as the queens or play as the ponds. Work cooperatively to strategically either 1) eliminate all the ponds (when playing as the queens) 2) eliminate the queens or have at least one pond get to the other side to win (when playing as the ponds).
Two Player vs AI: Each player owns their own roll of ponds or queens, depending on which side is being played. Strategically, discuss with partner the best possible way to stay alive or destroy a piece. Player One goes first, then the second player is next. The AI then takes two moves and the four individual turns starts over again.
